Photography
I got into photography at the age of 19. I started with a disposable camera that I never got developed. I moved to 3 megapixel camera that came free with a printer that was very limited. The first camera that I bought was a 5 megapixel camera by Samsung from Walmart. At the time I was photographing my local railroads documenting different locomotives that I came across. I started to get into some nature photography and went to my first national park. I became hooked immediately. I purchased a Canon G9 point and shoot and got to work. I taught myself on that little camera and had a blast. After a while, I decided I wanted to photograph wildlife as well and wanted to move to a better camera. That camera was the Canon 7D. I learned so much and captured so many photos with that camera that I loved. Over time though, the camera became outdated and I knew if I wanted to become more serious and turn this hobby into a profession, I would need a professional camera. That’s where I am now, I have the Canon R5 and I am blown away with the quality. If I’m out traveling, hiking or exploring with my camera, I’m in my happy place.
Life Away From Photography
I live in western Maryland with my beautiful wife Mayra. We love traveling and going on adventures together. Whether it’s a local hike or taking a long drive or flight, we go whenever we get the chance. I have the goal of visiting all 63 national parks and all 50 states in the United States. Outside of the United States, I’d love to explore Iceland, Costa Rica, the Galápagos Islands and Patagonia.
